Last week into the weekend, Johnny drove a Ryan Ruter owned Sidebiter Chassis in the 33rd Annual IMCA Supernationals held at Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa. Wednesday evening he started on the pole of the 24th Modified heat and won. He redrew a 12 for the night's feature and ran sixth. They only took the top four finishers to Saturday's main event.
Thursday evening he rolled off fouth for the heat. He and another competitor got together and the damage was enough to sideline him for the remainder of the evening. Friday Johnny had another crack at it. He drew the pole fo the first heat and won. The redraw number for him was 7 and he passed three carts in the feature to lock up the final transfer spot to the big show.
Saturday Johnny rolled off the grid 21st. He picked off a slew of car and made it to sixth with three laps to go. A car in front of him checked up and Johnny spun to avoid making contact. He went to the tail and wrapped up Supernationals with a 17th place finish.
